Purpose of Post
Playing a key role on the Executive Team, the Deputy Executive Director, Individual Giving is a new post that will drive direct marketing income, and ensure our direct marketing and individual giving approach is not only effective today, but fit for purpose in the future. This includes adapting to new audiences and to new ways of generating income, and having a strong digital focus.
The Directorate is currently made up of 4 teams: Direct Marketing, Public Fundraising, Gifts in Wills and Supporter Services with approximately 50 staff. Between them, these teams currently deliver approximately £48m (57% of the organisation’s voluntary income).
The successful candidate will be responsible for enabling and leading the directorate to meet our ambitious strategic goals of increasing income and influence through mass engagement in a complex and changing landscape. This will involve innovative, future focused, leading edge approaches to driving individual giving, and will require an integrated organisational approach.
This role reports to the Executive Director who is responsible for the overall management of Unicef UK, working to realise Unicef’s vision for children worldwide, and achieve the organisation’s advocacy and fundraising objectives. Together with the Executive team, this person will lead collaboration and integration with other functions, to focus on building engagement with the public in order to deliver growth in income and influence for children’s rights.
In addition to driving forward Unicef UK’s Individual Giving, the post holder works alongside the Deputy Executive Director, Partnerships to drive fundraising strategy as part of the dynamic overall fundraising strategy for Unicef UK.
As part of the Executive team, we are looking for an exceptional leader who is able to inspire others to raise their game, and to use their talent, skills and experience to deliver the Unicef UK vision.
